My Top 5 Songs of 2009.

All 2009 releases!
Who will come out on top?

Anyways here are my top 5 songs of 2009!

5. "All I Want" by Blasko
The first single from Blasko's third album "As Day Follows Night." Something haunting about this song, which most of her songs are. The lyrics reflect myself as I'm still finding who I am and want I want in life. Congrats for her winning Aria for Best Female 2009, which is the Australian Grammy.

4. "Want" by Natalie Imbruglia
Also the first single from Imbruglia's fourth studio album "Come To Life." This wasn't a good year for Natalie. Both L'Oreal and her record company dropped her, and she got divorced. Hence why "I hope you get all that you want, coz I didn't," and the music video shows that she still has the face. The album was a bit disappointing because Coldplay's Chris Martin butchered the Natalie's original album plans. Just because Coldplay touches your work, doesn't mean it'll be Gold.

3. "The Loving Kind" by Girls Aloud
The second single from Girls Aloud's fifth studio album "Out of Control," and also their 20th top 10 hit single in the UK. The song was co-written by Pet Shop Boys, which my father enjoyed and loves this song. It's a bit repetitive but I love the song in general. Can't wait for their comeback.

2. "What If" by Darin
I was introduced to Darin late this year and this track made me fall in love with his music. Coming from his fourth studio album "Flashback," he captures what current pop is all about. Hence why he worked with RedOne, Lady Gaga's producer, many times. Everything about this song is love. The piano, melody, lyrics, beat, music video and emotion reflects myself as a high school student. I would love to thank him in person for creating such a masterpiece with meaning.

1. "Fight For This Love" by Cheryl Cole
Cole is the first Girls Aloud member to venture out with a solo album "3 Words." This song was a grower but having the instrumental and learning the lyrics made me fall in love with it. I like the tone of her voice and the beat of the song. Very R&B influenced but still pop. It was a UK #1 for 2 weeks and it definitely tops my list.

Sorry for the lack of updates. So much fun things I wanted to post about, like Kylie Minogue's Hollywood Bowl show. Best pop concert I've ever been to!

Calvin Goldspink at OC Idol.

OMG! His performance tonight was a lot different compared to his first US show. There was choreography and backup dancers. Set list was Bright Lights, Don't Fail Me Now, and a new song. I really enjoyed the new song. I hope his album will be dance pop. Calvin plans to release his album next year but the first market will be Japan. I'm pissed because I didn't get to record much of the show. There was a camera man right in front of me and one of the staff members said I couldn't use my camera. I recorded the last song though. We also talked about Stacey on X-Factor.

S Club Juniors 8 I Dream: Calvin Goldspink @ Pig 'n Whistle in Hollywood, CA.

May 14, 2009.

OMG OMG Just came back from seeing Calvin! All I have to say is that he's better than what I'd expected as his manager is Papa Joe Simpson (Jessica and Ashlee Simpson's father). I saw him there too but didn't get a picture with him. Why would I get a picture of him lol. The audio isn't so great and the lighting was poor. The level on Calvin's mic should've been higher and he definitely sang live. He stormed off set when the show ended; probably to refreshen up after the sweaty performance. I was about to hunt him down if he didn't return but he did a couple of minutes later. He met up with Papa Joe and headed to the back where my co-worker and I were sitting. I was like "OMG, I can't believe it's really him, been a fan since 2002-3." My co-worker saw the excitement in my eyes. As he passed by, I shouted his name and he instantly turned to me. I asked if I could get a picture and if he wouldn't mind signing some old cds (Together & Sundown). He was surprised that I had them and was very nice about it. Gotta love the fans that support from the very beginning. He called for Papa Joe to check them out but he was busy. I talked about looking into overseas music, discovering S Club 8, and how he'll always have my support. He said thanks for all the support and that his solo album should be out next year (I think in the US). Other than that, it was a pretty good show if you like male pop rock musicians. He's really nice. I think my co-worker likes him now; his accent turn her on lol.

Nadine's Irish Mist.

So I went to Nadine's Irish Mist three times and I have yet to meet Nadine Coyle herself.

First time was during Nadine's Birthday bash. I left early as my friend got wasted and vomited inside and outside of the Mist. I didn't have a chance to say hi to Nadine. Shit happens so I'm not going to cry over it. Never taking that friend again. I discovered that my friend does more than drink... drugs.

Second time I met Nadine's sister Rachel. She seemed cold. LOL, she didn't know what a "virgin drink" was. I'm bad with alcohol btw. Their mother seemed really nice.

Third time, no Coyles at all.

Next time.

Hey Guys!
